#MarchForSisterhood

When Girls Who Code tapped us to create a multimedia weekend-long science fair, we decided to forgo the conventional model of an online live event (where an audience is asked to passively watch and listen), and to make each participant the star of her own experience – a true Gen Z value. Dedicated to all things STEM, CodeFair highlighted technology, interactive gaming, and creative collaboration geared towards Gen Z and Alpha audiences. Crafted as a modern-day science museum, over 3000+ attendees were invited to act as creators, putting their talents toward the creation of bespoke rooms hosted by corporate sponsors, and tasked with collaborating on displays. A feat of all-hands-on-deck interactivity and engagement, CodeFair featured tech embedded into every layer of the program, from interactive storytelling and idea-smithing to gaming rooms, and also placed a spotlight on the one topic every young coder can agree on: the love of very cute cats.

The First-Ever Virtual Sisterhood March

Created to honor girls from across the globe who – through various circumstances – are not given the access or ability to march, we were asked by Girls Who Code to stage the first-ever virtual March for Sisterhood. Featuring girls from around the world sharing their stories of strength, hope, and solidarity through over 10,000 unique moments of user-generated content, this march was all about providing girls with a platform to stand up for what they believe in – wildly successful results. The event exceeding goals by 2453%, featuring 658M+ views on TikTok and 255K+ mentions using #MarchForSisterhood, and also hit the top 10 trending topics on Twitter in New York City. By giving these girls the opportunity to describe their personal missions and what they advocate for – drawing on Gen Z’s dedication to creating a world that aligns with their own ethical concerns – this event helped center Girls Who Code as an organization dedicated to helping girls everywhere reach their full potential, and allowed the girls themselves to share a moment of true global sisterhood.
